TV is black AND white

get it? black and white? well, technically tv has colors now, but let’s not go into details and rain on my musical happy parade. anyways, has anyone watched hairspray? did you see that part during the protest where there’s a sign that says tv is black and white?

yes i notice weird things. and, obviously, i just rewatched hairspray.

i’m also going to state, very seriously, that elijah kelley is better than zac efron. he’s actually one of my favorite singers and characters in hairspray along with amanda bynes. this is like my favorite (part of) a song ever (from without love)

elijah: living in the ghetto black is everywhere you go. who’d ever thought i love a girl with skin as white as winter snow?

amanda: in my ivory tower life was just a hostess snack, and i’m never going back!

then she grabs him by the shirt front and gives him this hilariously over passionate, serious look. they’re the funniest couple from hairspray too. not only are they funny though, elijah has a very good voice. or, well, at least i like it. it has a roughish quality to it compared to zac’s smooth voice.

and now you’re thinking, what does this have to do with fashion? oh but it does!

they’re so cool. i love how they pair slacks with beat up converses, and i love the color of elijah’s shirt. but have you noticed the prints on the dresses of the two girls in the first picture? food and a city! amazing! who’s brave enough to wear their food on their clothes? obviously, almost no one. that’s kind of cool how they (meaning the people that dress the actors, the name of that position seems to have fled my mine for the moment) paid attention to even those tiny details. that scene is the part with the song called big, blonde, and beautiful which includes lines about food, i think. or maybe i’m just reading too much into it. maybe they just did it to make it different.

i don’t know how to make it sound like i’m concluding this post now, so i’m just going to tell you. it’s the end.
