REWIND!

It’s obviously almost the end of fall, and it’s very obvious that it isn’t 2008 anymore, but let’s take a “step back to the past” and look at [worship] one of my favorite collections: Benjamin Cho Fall RTW2008.

How is that not amazing? Please, tell me.  I love the flowers that seem to be bursting from the dark, simple silhouette of the dress. The deer (or whatever animal it’s supposed to be) was a surprising touch at the end to what seemed to be a very flowery themed collection (maybe it was nature?)

See…flowers. Lots and lots of them. I love the cut of the second dress. It’s so simple, and then there’s the flower all of a sudden. It adds just the right amount of spontaneity. The first dress isn’t my favorite, but if you’ll look closely, you can see the flowery designs on the model’s arms which are later on echoed in the pattern of the third dress. Very cool.

Here’s a closer look…

Look at her arms! So cool. I want to do that to my arms now. I could totally imagine that with a super simple outfit. It’s like the perfect accessory… (:

But, not to bash my favorite designer, is it just me or is this not exactly very fall?  I’m not getting a very fall feeling when I look at it. It’s just very pretty.  When I think of fall, I think of warm layers and a warm color palette with colors like browns, tans, and warmer colors.  Some of the outfits, I understand, and then there are others that are…not so autumny, if you get what I’m saying. The woolen deer headpiece at the end is amazing, but doesn’t that feel more winter?

Whatever. I’m still loving this collection.  Haven’t seen or heard much from him the past year, but I’m waiting to see his latest designs!
